When you quote a shipper on a load (whether on Evotrux or off), you typically don’t know if your quote is competitive.  You are only told whether you win or lose the shipment. Evotrux’s new pre-booking Quote Competitiveness Score changes that. It shows you where your quote stands while the shipper is still choosing.

IMPORTANT: 65% of shipments on Evotrux book above the lowest rate offered.  The Quote Competitiveness Score factors in your price, history, and profile.  Yes, shippers want competitive pricing, but they want to work with carriers they can trust even more.  Being “competitive” is not exclusively about price.

What is the quote competitiveness score?

Every quote you send gets one of four labels:

• Very competitive

• Competitive

• Somewhat competitive

• Not competitive

The label is built from three things, and each one counts the same:

• Price: how your price compares to the other quotes on the load

• History: how much you have proven yourself on Evotrux, and with this shipper

• Profile: how complete your company profile is

Each of the three also gets its own label, so you can see what is helping you and what is holding you back.

Where can I see it?

You'll find the score on the shipment page, in the My Quotes section, right under the price of each quote you have sent.

The score is included on Bronze, Silver, and Gold subscription plans. If you are on Essentials or Pay-Per-Booking, you'll see a locked version with See how your quote compares and an Upgrade Now button.

How to read your score

1. Check the label

The coloured strip shows your overall label. The icon beside it tells you what state the score is in:

• Open circle: your quote can still be booked, so the score can still change.

• Check mark: your quote was booked. The score is final.

• Lock: your quote can no longer be booked (for example, it was declined, cancelled, expired or lost). The score is frozen at where it stood when the quote ended, and it turns grey.

2. Click See why

Click See why on the strip to open the details. You'll see Price, History, and Profile, each with its own label and the facts behind it.

3. Look at what's behind each label

Price compares your price to the median of the other quotes on the load. The median is the middle price when all the other quotes are lined up from lowest to highest. You'll see how far above or below the median you are, and how many other quotes are on the load.

You never see what another carrier quoted, and they never see what you quoted.

History shows:

• How many loads you have booked with this shipper

• Whether you are in this shipper's network

• How many loads you have booked on Evotrux in total

• Your star and your satisfaction ratings

Profile shows a checklist of seven items from your company profile page:

• Equipment types

• Service areas

• Valid insurance

• Fleet size

• Carrier type

• Emergency contact

• Company description

How to improve your score

Complete your profile

This is the fastest win. Fill in all seven items and your Profile label goes to the top. Your insurance must be current to count. See Updating Your Company Profile and Add/Update Your Insurance.

Build your history

Ask shippers to rate you after each load. You need at least two ratings before they count toward your score.

Every load you book on Evotrux also adds to your history.

Price it right

You don't usually need to be the cheapest. Price is measured against the middle of the other quotes, not the lowest one. Once you are well below the middle, going lower won't raise your label any further.

A price well above the other quotes can hold your whole label down, even if your history and profile are strong. When that happens, the details will tell you that price is what capped your score.

What happens after I send my quote?

Right after you send a quote, you may see Scoring your quote… for a moment while your score is worked out.  A banner will appear once your score has been calculated with a button to refresh your screen so you can see the score.

While your quote can still be booked, your score can change. That happens when:

• Another carrier quotes on the load, or a quote is countered

• You update your company profile or insurance

• You get a new rating

• Your network with this shipper changes

• You book another load on Evotrux

When your score changes, you'll see a Quote score updated banner on the shipment page. Click Refresh to see the new score.

Once your quote can no longer be booked, the score freezes. It will not change again, so you can come back later and see where your quote stood.

Why this matters

Quoting blind is frustrating. You put in a number, wait, and often never learn why the load went to someone else. By then, there is nothing you can do about it.

The pre-booking Quote Competitiveness Score shows you where you stand while the load is still open. You can see if your price is in range, and whether your history or profile is holding you back. Many of the things that make a quote stronger, like a complete profile and good ratings, are fully in your control. Fix them once, and every quote you send after that is stronger.

Important notes

• The first quote on a load has no overall label yet. There is nothing to compare your price to, so you'll see "No other quotes on this load yet." You'll still see your History and Profile. As soon as another carrier quotes, your price is scored and your overall label appears.

• With only one other quote on the load, you'll see a label but not a %.  Percent below the median only displays once their are 3 quotes or more.

• Every other quote on the load counts, even ones that were later declined or cancelled. They were all real offers for that load.
