Shipment Q&A

Shipment Q&A allows carriers to ask and review clarifying questions about a shipment before submitting a quote. It helps ensure everyone is working from the same information and reduces avoidable back-and-forth prior to booking.

Where to Find Shipment Q&A

The Shipment Q&A section is located at the bottom of each shipment page, just below the route map.

If no questions have been asked yet, you’ll see an empty state inviting you to ask the first question.

How Shipment Q&A Works

  • Carriers can submit questions directly to the shipper

  • Shippers respond publicly within the shipment

  • All questions and answers are visible to all carriers viewing the shipment

This ensures that once a question is answered, everyone benefits from the clarification.

Anonymity & Visibility

Shipment Q&A is public but anonymous:

  • Carriers can see questions and answers from other carriers

  • Carrier names are not shown

  • Other carriers cannot see who asked a specific question

  • Your name is not displayed to other carriers on questions you submit

This encourages clear questions without exposing competitive information.

What Shipment Q&A Is For

Shipment Q&A should be used to confirm shipment details, such as:

  • Pickup or delivery timing

  • Accessorial requirements

  • Loading or unloading constraints

  • Site access, hours, or restrictions

  • Clarification of shipment descriptions

These questions help carriers provide accurate quotes and avoid surprises.

What Shipment Q&A Is Not For

Shipment Q&A is not the place to negotiate pricing.

  • Pricing discussions should happen through quote submission

  • Questions or messages about rates or negotiation will be automatically removed

If you want to discuss pricing, submit a quote instead.

When to Use Shipment Q&A vs Submitting a Quote

  • Use Shipment Q&A to clarify details you need before quoting

  • Use Submit a Quote to communicate pricing or respond to pricing decisions

Keeping this separation helps shipments move faster and keeps communication clear for everyone.

Best Practices

  • Ask clear, specific questions

  • Review existing Q&A before submitting a new question

  • Avoid duplicate questions if an answer already exists

  • Keep questions professional and shipment-focused

TL;DR

  • Shipment Q&A appears at the bottom of each shipment page

  • Questions and answers are public, but carrier names are hidden from other carriers

  • Use Q&A to clarify shipment details, not to negotiate price

  • Pricing discussions belong in quote submissions

  • Clear questions help everyone quote more accurately

Shipment Q&A helps carriers quote with confidence and keeps shipment details transparent for all.
