Creating and Understanding Lanes

Lanes are one of the most powerful tools available to carriers on Evotrux. Instead of constantly checking load boards, making calls, or sending emails, lanes allow you to tell Evotrux what freight you want, and we notify you automatically when matching loads are posted.

What Is a Lane?

A lane is a saved set of criteria that defines the type of freight you want to see.

A lane can include:

  • Equipment type

  • Service type (FTL, LTL, etc.)

  • Origin locations

  • Destination locations

Once saved, Evotrux continuously monitors new shipments and notifies you whenever a load matches one of your lanes.

Why Lanes Matter

Lanes turn Evotrux into a push-based system instead of a search-based one.

With lanes:

  • You don’t need to refresh load boards

  • You don’t need to chase freight

  • You don’t need to send mass emails

Instead, when a shipper posts a matching load, Evotrux alerts you instantly, so you can review and quote quickly.

This helps carriers:

  • Respond faster

  • Win more shipments

  • Reduce time spent searching for loads

Where to Create Lanes

Lanes are created from the Filters / Lanes panel on your Carrier Dashboard.

  1. Click Filters / Lanes

  2. Set your desired criteria

  3. Click Save Lane

Creating a Lane

When creating a lane, you’ll define one or more of the following:

  • Equipment Type – The equipment you want to haul

  • Services – Full load, partial load, etc.

  • Origins – Where you want freight to start

  • Destinations – Where you want freight to go

Once set, click Save Lane and give it a name that helps you recognize it later. Lane names are internal only and visible only to your company.

When Should You Create Lanes?

Carriers should create lanes whenever they regularly have capacity, including:

  • Core routes you run regularly

  • Regions where your fleet is frequently positioned

  • Backhaul or return routes

  • Seasonal or temporary capacity areas

You can also create lanes on demand, such as:

  • When a truck becomes available unexpectedly

  • When repositioning equipment

  • When you want to proactively find freight for open capacity

  • When you are exploring new regions to send equipment to

How Lane Notifications Work

In-App Notifications
Email Notification

Once a lane is saved:

  • Evotrux automatically checks all newly posted shipments

  • If a shipment matches your lane, you’re notified (in-app + email)

  • You can click directly into the shipment to review and quote

This happens automatically, no extra action required.

Managing Your Lanes

You can manage lanes at any time by clicking Show My Lanes on the dashboard.

From here, you can:

  • View all saved lanes

  • Select lanes to auto-filter the shipment list

  • Delete lanes that are no longer relevant

Lanes can be created or removed at any time, giving you full control over what freight you see.

Best Practices for Using Lanes

To get the most value from lanes:

  • Save lanes only where you actually have capacity

  • Remove lanes that are no longer relevant

  • Update lanes as your network or equipment changes

  • Use clear, descriptive lane names for internal tracking

Keeping lanes up to date ensures you receive high-quality, relevant notifications instead of noise.

Summary

  • Lanes define the freight you want to see

  • Evotrux automatically notifies you when matching loads are posted

  • Lanes eliminate the need to constantly search for freight

  • You can create, update, or delete lanes at any time

  • Keeping lanes current helps you book faster and more efficiently

With lanes set up correctly, Evotrux works for you, bringing the right freight directly to your inbox.
