Shippers
Shippers are customers who post loads and book trucks to move freight.
Shippers use Evotrux to:
Post shipments and receive quotes
Compare carriers and pricing
Book, manage, and track freight
Types of Shippers
Direct Shippers
Direct Shippers are companies moving their own freight.
Examples include:
Manufacturers
Retailers
Distributors
Wholesalers
Direct Shippers use Evotrux to work directly with carriers, helping reduce costs and improve visibility into their transportation network.
Brokers (3PLs)
Broker Shippers are third-party logistics providers that arrange transportation on behalf of their customers.
They do not own the freight
They manage loads for shippers and book carriers to move them
They use Evotrux as a digital brokerage tool to source capacity and manage shipments
Carriers
Carriers are customers who quote on shipments, book loads, and move freight.
Carriers use Evotrux to:
Discover available loads
Submit quotes and negotiate rates
Book shipments and complete deliveries
Types of Carriers
Trucking Companies (Asset-Based)
Trucking Companies own or operate trucks and trailers.
Physically move the freight
Use Evotrux to find loads that match their equipment and lanes
Complete pickup, delivery, and tracking requirements
Brokers (Non-Asset)
Carrier Brokers do not own trucks.
They act as intermediaries between shippers and trucking companies
May submit quotes and manage transportation using partner carriers
Do not physically move the freight themselves
Why This Matters
Understanding customer types helps set clear expectations around:
Who is moving the freight
Who is responsible for booking and delivery
How quotes and bookings are handled on the platform
Evotrux is designed to support all of these customer types while maintaining transparency and control for everyone involved.
