What Is a Tracking Link?

A tracking link is a URL you provide that allows the shipper to see real-time or near real-time progress of a shipment. Tracking links are typically generated by your ELD, GPS system, or third-party tracking provider.

How Tracking Links Are Used on Evotrux

When submitting a quote, you may indicate that you can provide a tracking link.
If your quote is booked, you can add that tracking link directly on the shipment page.

The shipper can view the link at any time while the shipment is in transit.

Why Tracking Links Matter

Providing a tracking link helps:

  • Give shippers better visibility

  • Build trust and reliability

  • Reduce back-and-forth check-ins

How often you provide tracking links after committing to do so is visible to shippers.

If You Can’t Provide a Tracking Link

Even if you don’t have a tracking link, you are still expected to provide pickup, ETA, and delivery updates through Evotrux. These updates are timestamped and create a clear shipment history.

If you’d be interested in providing your customers with live tracking links, here are a few tracking link providers you can check out:

These platforms can generate tracking links that you can share with shippers after booking a load on Evotrux.

TL;DR

  • A tracking link is a URL you provide to show shipment progress

  • You add it after booking if you committed to providing one

  • Tracking improves visibility and trust

  • Status updates are required even without a tracking link

Tracking links make shipments easier to manage and improve the shipper experience.
